Vinyl iron-on garments are a fun and customisable way to express your style. So you can keep your SUBJETT vinyl designs looking vibrant and long-lasting, please follow these simple care instructions:

1. Washing: Turn the garment inside out before washing to protect the vinyl design. Use cold or lukewarm water (no warmer than 30c 86f) to prevent the vinyl from peeling or cracking. Avoid bleach or harsh detergents, as they can damage the vinyl. Hand washing gently and avoid wringing the garment, It is best to machine wash your garment on a gentle cycle with like colours, and is more than acceptable way to care for your garment's.

2. Drying: Always air-dry your vinyl garment and never use a clothes dryer as high heat from dryers can warp or even melt the vinyl. Hang the garment on a clothes line/hanger or lay it flat on a clean airing surface to dry.

3. Ironing: If wrinkles occur, turn the garment inside out and use a low-heat iron, with a sheet of grease proof paper between the design and the inside of the garment. or you can also place a sheet grease proof paper between the iron and the design so to avoid direct heat contact with the vinyl.

Do not iron directly on any of the vinyl designs including any logos. as it will cause it to melt, warp or peel, and can damage your irons plate.

4. Storage: Store your vinyl garment in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid folding the garment along the vinyl design to prevent creases.

5. Wear and Tear: Be mindful of activities that may strain or stretch the vinyl, as it can lead to cracking or peeling.

6. Repairs: If your vinyl does start to peel, you can fix this by re-ironing it carefully with any household iron, please use the lowest cotton setting, and make sure that you cover the whole design with butchers paper/grease proof paper or a Teflon sheet, before ironing. You then just need to firmly press the iron for a few seconds to re-adhere it to the fabric. For significant damage, consult us on support@subjett.store where we may be able to repair or replace the vinyl for you.

7. Considerations: Some types of vinyl are more durable than others, metallics generally age quicker due to their finish, so please follow the care instructions above. Keep in mind that vinyl iron-ons may naturally fade or flake over time with repeated washing, storage conditions and general wear and tear. This is totally normal, and I personally love the 70s retro feel it gives to a garment.

By following these care guidelines, you can extend the life and vibrancy of your vinyl garments and continue to showcase your unique style.
